[Side A] A Texas Quality Network broadcast from September 15, 1947 that is "presenting the case of the Battleship Texas." The recording begins with the voice of Henry Gillander who transferred the original recording (presumably an open reel audio tape) onto the audiocassette from his personal collection. The broadcast contains many tribute speeches to campaign to create a shrine to the Battleship Texas in San Jacinto, TX. Speeches are given by then Governor Beauford H. Jester, then Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Texas state senator Fred "Red" Harris, Chairman of the Battleship Texas Commission Lloyd Gregory, and actress Linda Darnell.
