Restrictions on Access

Because of the possibility that portions of these records fall under Public Information Act exceptions including, but not limited to, certain email addresses (Texas Government Code, Section 552.137), social security numbers (Texas Government Code, Section 552.147), and home addresses of government officials (Texas Government Code, Section 552.117), an archivist must review these records before they can be accessed for research. The records may be requested for research under the provisions of the Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552). Scope and Content
Texas Representative Sylvester Turner’s general office files relate to the operation of his legislative office including publicity, legislative session reviews, and staffing. Records include newsletters, speeches, presentations, photographs, press releases, news clippings, legislative summaries and charges, donation forms, labels, background information for public relations materials, and documentation related to legislative internship programs, dating 1989-2015, bulk 2005-2015.
