Using “Explore Archive” in the Texas Digital Archive (TDA)

Using “Explore Archive” in the Texas Digital Archive (TDA)

With “Explore the Texas Digital Archive,” you can navigate records in the TDA through a format very similar to a file directory. Click EXPLORE THE TEXAS DIGITAL ARCHIVE on the left side of the search toolbar (see Figure 1, below.)

Once the directory is displayed, you can click the sort and display icons on the right, just above the results (see Figure 2, below.)

For more description of these icons, see our legend of icons used in the TDA. We recommend you try out all views and decide which best suits your needs.

To continue exploring the archive, click on a thumbnail or title to enter that Collection and view its contents (see Figure 3, below.)

Continue clicking on the thumbnails of interest to you to enter those parts of the Collection. You will likely encounter several levels of folders before identifying a single record to display. Along the way, you may Refine Your Selection using the options provided on the left (see Figure 4, below.)
