Scope and Content
The Texas Office of the First Lady encompasses the official governmental activities of the spouse of the governor and functions as a subdivision of the Office of the Governor in practice. These files include digital images of Governor and Mrs. Perry at various events and official trips, dated 2008-2013. Also included are images approved for media purposes.
Events reflected in these records include official visits to the Netherlands, Del Rio, Brazil, Argentina, Slovakia, England and Spain; the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Lion’s Club, Travel Rally Day, and Main Street events at various towns. A small number of the files also include pictures of Mrs. Perry with former Texas governor Dolph Briscoe.
Electronic records described in the finding aid that are part of the Texas Digital Archive are indicated as such in the inventory. Restrictions on access to the content of records are applicable to physical and electronic records.
Formats of the original electronic files include word processing or plain text files (.doc, .docx, .txt), audio files (.mp3), photographs and graphic images (.jpg, .tif, .gif), databases (.mdb), PDFs, PowerPoint, and web-ready images (.htm). Digital files presented for public use will generally be PDF for text documents or spreadsheets, .jpg for photographic or graphic images, and .mp3 for audio files. Files in their original format are available on request; restrictions may apply
