Scope and Content
The Governor’s Commission for Women (GCW) was created in 1967 to serve as a liaison between Texas women and government agencies, as well as private entities addressing women’s needs. These records document the commission’s activities and correspondence with local commissions for women throughout Texas, dated 2004, 2007, 2010-2013. Files include correspondence, invitations, survey questions, a compiled list of local commissions and their contact information, and remarks to be delivered at an official reception.
Formats of the original electronic files include word processing files (.doc, .docx) and PDFs. Digital files presented for public use will generally be PDF for text documents or spreadsheets. Files in their original format are available on request; restrictions may apply.
