Scope and Content
The Governor’s Commission for Women (GCW) was created in 1967 to serve as a liaison between Texas women and government agencies, as well as private entities addressing women’s needs. These records include planning and strategy documents, such as questions for newly-appointed commissioners, overview of deliverables and commission activities, notes from phone interviews, and discussion outlines, dated 2004-2008, 2011-2013.
Formats of the original electronic files include word processing files (.doc, .docx). Digital files presented for public use will generally be PDF for text documents or spreadsheets. Files in their original format are available on request; restrictions may apply.
Arrangement
Records are arranged in the order as received from the agency. Some files/folders have been added to this category for the purpose of clarity. Records within sub-folders however remain in the original order. Files tend to be labeled descriptively and include information about the subject.
