Scope and Content
Major responsibilities of the Press Office under Governor Rick Perry included providing public relations support for Governor Perry and First Lady Anita Perry by issuing press releases and media advisories on their activities and actions; writing speeches and public service annoucements for them; and creating visual and audio documentation of their public events. Staff files include supporting documentation for Press Office staff members including website files for the gov.texas.gov website, employee of the month features, intern documents, invite lists, and projects in development. These records date 1997-2015. Records are comprised of paper and electronic records including analytics for the governor’s website along with public engagement and web traffic reports, interview request for Governor Perry, and contact information for news media and bloggers. One folder entitled “Vetoes” is empty. Vetoes are available on the Legislative Reference Library website.
Formats of the original electronic files include word processing or plain text files (.doc, .docx, .txt), spreadsheets (.xls., xlsx), PDFs, PowerPoint and webpages.
