Scope and Content
The Texas Music Office of the Texas Governor’s Office is a state-funded business promotion office and information clearinghouse for the Texas music industry. Records consist of incoming correspondence received by the TMO, dating 1989-2015. The letters are often applications for music industry information, TMO publications, or requests by musicians and other music professionals to have contact information included in TMO directories. Correspondents include musicians, record label staff, music venue owners, event organizers, and other members of the Texas music community. One folder contains correspondence received from correctional facilities. For additional correspondence, see the subseries Subject files.
