Scope and Content
The Texas Music Office (TMO) of the Texas Governor’s Office is a state-funded business promotion office and information clearinghouse for the Texas music industry. Records consist of memoranda and press releases sent out by TMO staff to publicize office initiatives, primarily the release of major office publications like the Texas Music Industry Directory, the Texas Music Education Primer, the Texas Recording and Production Guide, and the Texas Music Events Calendar, dated 1996-1998. Recipients of the materials include the press, industry-specific email mailing lists, music event organizers, musical instrument retailers, club owners, and record store managers, all principally in the state of Texas.
