Scope and Content
The Texas Music Office (TMO) of the Texas Governor’s Office is a state-funded business promotion office and information clearinghouse for the Texas music industry. Records consist of a small amount of materials generated by TMO long-range planning activities, including incoming and outgoing correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, meeting agenda and minutes, instructions, and draft plans, dated 1990-2000. The records also document TMO staff collaboration in planning activities with representatives of the Texas Department of Commerce as well as consultant firms PHH Fantus and GSD&M. Record subjects include marketing, promotion of the Texas music industry, agency long-range goals, and agency performance measures.
