Title:
Closed projects (Director's Office)
Description:
Records consist of paper and electronic files held by TMO director Casey Monahan concerning office involvement with music industry meetings and conferences, dating 1987-2010. This includes both events attended by TMO staff in order to promote the Texas music community and Austin-area events in which the TMO itself developed in whole or in part. Types of records include incoming and outgoing correspondence, memoranda, reports, presentations, speeches, invitations, drafts, brochures, spreadsheets, press releases, schedules, newsletters, minutes, meeting programs, budgets, notes, and digital images. While most of the events documented focus on the commercial side of the music industry, TMO staff were also involved in musician-oriented proceedings, such as the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and the Capitol Salute to Texas Music. Other events substantially documented include the International Latin Music Conference, the Marché International du Disque et de l\'Edition Musicale (MIDEM), the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) annual meeting, the Salute to Texas Music, and the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference.
