Leroy D. Coe of Liberty, Texas, served in the US Army Air Force in the European Theater of World War II, with the the 652nd Bomb Squadron, 25th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force. His unit took part in the Northern France, Ardennes-Alsace, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns. The Leroy D. Coe collection of World War II letters and other materials consists of letters and postcards written by Coe to his family in Liberty, Texas, during his military service, as well as military records, graduation and wedding announcements mailed to him during his service, and other wartime mementos, dating 1943-1945. This collection has been digitized and is part of the Texas Digital Archive.
