Crutches owned by Judge Robert McAlpin Williamson
Title: Crutches owned by Judge Robert McAlpin Williamson
Description: Pair of crutches, wooden.
Description: Historical Note: These crutches were owned by Judge R.M. Williamson, one of the district judges in the days of the Republic of Texas. One of his knees was stiffened by white swelling, necessitating the use of crutches, hence the sobriquet of Three-Legged Willie. Williamson was a member of the Consultation, district judge member of Texas Congress, and afterwards a state senator in the legislature.
