Major responsibilities of the Press Office (also known as Communications) under Texas Governor Rick Perry included issuing press releases and media advisories on the activities and actions of the governor, as well as the first lady; writing speeches and public service annoucements for the governor and the first lady; and creating visual and audio documentation of the Governor's and the First Lady's public events. Records of this office comprise paper and electronic records, including audio, photographs and video of Governor Perry and First Lady Anita Perry, dating 1972, 1998-2015, undated, bulk 2008-2012. Types of records include audiocassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, photographic prints and negatives, and VHS and Betacam video tapes, along with digital audio, photographic and video files. The majority of the media files are in electronic format.
