Description: Historical Note: Simon Stevin (1548-1620) was a mathematician and scientist in Bruges who first introduced decimal fractions. Sculptor Eugène Simonis from Liège designed the bronze statue of Simon Stevin, which was put up at Simon Stevinplein square, Bruges, in 1846. On July 27, all participating organizations and individuals in the celebrations received a medal like this one.
