Historical Note: This puzzle was presented by Mr. J.W. Graham who stated that General Sam Houston was a great whittler in the last days of his life and always had a sharp pocket knife. With soft pine, he made puzzles and crosses. When Mr. Graham was a boy of eight or nine years, General Houston whittled this puzzle for him.
