Title:
National Association of State Archives and Records Administrators (NASARA) records
Description:
These records provide context for the professional standards and the representation that National Association of State Archives and Records Administrators (NASARA) actively engaged in on state levels. Additionally, administrative and organizational documents spanning the history of the association, several versions of the association's bylaws and incorporation documents, as well as lists of officers and directors and secretary files are included. The meeting minutes, publications, and annual meeting materials document these activities and corresponding projects, dating 1974-1985. During the 1984 Annual Meeting, NASARA voted to transform itself into the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA) to advance the interest and concerns of all persons associated with the management, preservation, and use of records of government at the local, state, and federal levels. The lead-up to this transition is documented within this series through the 1982-1983 minutes and reports, 1984 annual meeting materials, and 1984 transition committee files.
